Psychotherapy and Counselling

A confidential space to explore the thoughts, feelings and challenges in your life

Welcome

Welcome to my website. I am a qualified and experienced psychotherapist and counsellor, registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am based in Zurich, Switzerland.

I am available to see clients both in-person and online.

About Psychotherapy/

Counselling

Therapy takes place in a quiet, confidential setting and is a partnership between client and therapist. In therapy, the client has complete freedom to say whatever is on their mind, without judgement, criticism or blame.

I work from a psychodynamic perspective which recognizes that present difficulties, such as depression, anxiety, relationship problems, can be linked to earlier experiences. We often unconsciously recreate patterns from the past in our current relationships. These patterns can be unhelpful, leading, for example, to repeatedly unfulfilling or destructive relationships. Understanding the underlying nature of difficulties and awareness of what was previously unconscious, can not only alleviate suffering but also enrich our lives.

People come to me for help a wide range of issues. Here are a few of the more common difficulties that can be supported through counselling:

Feelings of stress or anxiety

Panic attacks

Relationship problems

Grief, loss or bereavement

Abuse

Depression

Problems with confidence or self-esteem

Anger management

Issues relating to sexuality

Difficulties at work or in retirement

Problems with family or school life

Professional Qualifications

I have a post-graduate diploma in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from the Westminster Pastoral Foundation, which is one of the leading training institutions in the UK. I am a registered professional member of the European Association for Psychotherapy and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

In addition to working in private practice, I have also worked for the NHS as an honorary psychotherapist at Guy's hospital. I also have an honorary qualification in assessment from the Westminster Pastoral Foundation. I participate in peer support programmes and have regular supervision.

Regular Sessions

A session is a weekly 50-minute appointment between client and therapist at the same time on the same day. The regularity and frequency of appointments are essential to the work, so deciding to attend therapy is a commitment. I offer both short-term focused work and longer-term open-ended therapy. We can discuss what would suit you in your first session.

Making the First Appointment

You do not need to be referred by a doctor to make an appointment. If you feel that you could benefit from the opportunity to talk frankly about your current situation, call or email me to set up a meeting. This one-off meeting is an opportunity for both of us to work out if we can work together, and to think about what you would like to get out of therapy. We can then arrange a weekly fifty-minute session for you.

Get In Touch

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to counselling, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.

You can also call me on +41799567987 if you would prefer to leave a message or speak to me first. I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have before arranging an initial appointment.

I work from a group practice in Lavaterstrasse 75, 8002 Zürich Enge and easily accessible from surrounding areas.
